Liked: The place, the staff, the room and the bathroom. Great breakfast for a cheap price. That was a nice surprise for us. We'll be back.

Avoid this place!
Disliked: Unpleasant experience and total lack of respect and empathy. I strongly advise against staying at Hostal Rom Familial. We had booked a triple room, but unfortunately, we had to cancel his trip at the last minute due to serious health issues. When we arrived as a party of two, I politely explained the situation to the manager and at Booking aq well and asked if we could switch to a double room. He totally disagreed in an unpleasant manner during my check-in time although Booking had alerted about the question. Given the circumstances, I also suggested a small commercial gesture—such as offering dinner to cover the price difference between the triple and double rooms ( the différence was important, >140 euros). To be completely honest, I reminded him that was the second year that I was their client and an effort on fidelisation was something very appreciated from the customers as I had very positive expériences about my travels over 40 countries all over the world!! The manager refused every option with a complete lack of empathy and flexibility, clearly prioritizing profit over customer service. He didn't want to refund me the money as well of the breakfast time that I had payed for the third person, he refused and accepted to give me the credit for the bar!!! An awful person sincerely! He claimed the hotel was fully booked, which was plainly untrue; this was at the end of August, past the peak season, and the property was visibly half-empty throughout our stay. To make matters worse, his attitude was deeply disrespectful. He was cold, rigid and even rudely insinuated that we might vandalize the room. A business that treats guests facing personal difficulties with such hostility and suspicion does not deserve your money! Avoid this place and especially this disgraceful manager!
