  Pleasant apartment stay within the Santiago area

  Liked: This was a very comfortable, stylish and clean apartment. It was well mostly well equipped (ie. kitchen supplies; see bedding exception in negatives). Hosts responded quickly and shared all the info needed to get in in a good amount of time so you didn't need to stress about getting in. Area was quiet and safe with a grocery store across street.

  Disliked: The hosts assume that 2 guests will automatically share the double bed and thus don't provide bedding for the sofa bed, even though it indicates there is one in the listing. As I was traveling with a friend who wasn't staying the whole time, they were planning to use the sofa bed. When we asked for bedding they wanted 15 euros extra and said we needed to tell them in advance if we wanted to use the sofa bed and needed sheets, and they would not budge on the extra fees. That is shocking. We declined the overpriced sheets and used our camino sleep liners. They should not assume every 2 people want to sleep together. If they need extra money for the sofa bed and advance notice they should spell that out explicitly in the listing. Other than that, it's a little far from town - rather long walk. There is a bus stop, but it's not super frequent or predictable (about every half hour) and doesn't run really late, so you need to really plan carefully to not miss bus. A cab (using taxi stand) however, wasn't too expensive (about $6).

  Great apartment. Terrible hospitality

  Liked: Not ideal for pilgrims. The apartment is cute and comfortable. There is a market across the street.

  Disliked: It’s quite far from the city center but walkable. They will not consider checkin before 4pm period, and do not have a place to put your bags before or after check in/out. And despite not allowing any early check in they will message you immediately after check in what time you will leave so they can access the apartment for cleaning. They also charge an additional city tax of a measly €1.20 which they will message you about several times even after giving you the option to leave it in cash, and despite paying €100 for the night. Due to the lack of hospitality alone I would not stay here again.
