  Resist the proximity to the Cathedral if you want a good night of sleep

  Liked: The location was excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the Cathedral.

  Disliked: The hotel was right above a bar, so the noise level was difficult and lasted well into the wee hours of the morning. The television did not work, and despite the manager's promise to fix it the following day, nothing was done. The photos in the listing are not representative of the actual state of the hotel.

  This is a terrible hostel experience. I would not recommend it under any circumstances

  Liked: Only the location which has a view of the cathedral.

  Disliked: I would not recommend anyone stay at this Hostal ever. Many many physical improvements are necessary. The accommodation had the following issues: There was no toilet seat The entry door did not close with out placing something in front of it or locking our selves in — using the key is not always an option when we separated at times The room was extremely small to accommodate three people. This was clearly a two person room with a third bed squeezed in. There wad about a foot between each bed - very unreasonable. The shower stall was tiny with some sort of raised area that took up floorspace. I am a small person and had a difficult time navigating in it. The men sharing this room were both 6 feet tall or more and it was borderline unsafe. The shower head was not placed in a fashion where it could be used as designed. It points straight up and of no use and would continuously fall off striking us in the head. Lights were very dim. This room was poorly maintained and certainly not priced appropriately. This was my 7th time in Santiago in the last 5 years. I have stayed in numerous places pensión, hotel, hostal and albergue style accommodations. I have never had this sort of experience even in older historical buildings. I advised the management that the accommodation we were placed in was in very poor condition. This was done at check-in and also the day following our first of three nights. I requested a similar room that actually fits three people and is in better condition. They stated -at check in - when we spoke about some of the issues - that there was nothing available with a private bath. Due to medical reasons for one of us, a private bathroom was necessary. Since we could not be accommodated, I respectfully requested that they reduce the price accordingly for the major inconvenience. This was extremely overpriced for what we have received.

  The accommodations was not as I expected but thanks for Ruby who was very helpful, the whole visit

  Disliked: It was very inconvenient not to have anyone in the premises if you have an emergency. The door key to the hostel is most of the time hard to use, I often have to flag a passerby to open the door for me. That is the reason someone is needed nearby to be able to help someone who needs help. I felt very unsafe.
