We won’t stay there again
Liked: Staff pleasant and helpful
Disliked: Our room had no fan or aircon and needed the window open, it was so hot, it was next to a very noisy and busy road so we had hardly any sleep, the bedspreads were dirty, one bed was broken, uncomfy mattresses, towels in the bathroom had been dried and folded and evidence of previous use. We didn’t know about the towels until late and only when we came to use them that we saw the dirty marks, we did complain about the bedspreads which were exchanged and had to use the bed as it was, it was unstable and moved from side to side.
Caveat emptor
Liked: It was very close to Santander port and there was tapas and drinks readily available. The parking was good too. The beds had fresh linen and there were fresh towels.
Disliked: We don’t normally like to be critical as people’s livelihoods are at stake. In this instance, we felt hoodwinked by the pictures as they did not convey the reality we encountered. We stayed in the ground floor apartment and not in the main building. The family below were loud well into the night, sleeping was difficult. The fridge in the apartment was unusable - no, seriously. We weren’t sure how long it had been left uncleaned - weeks?! The apartment felt and was “tired” and smelt very musty. It wasn’t a great experience, and for the money paid, it felt far short of value for money.

Liked: Great place just off the path of the Camino. Clean and comfy.
Nice room, food available downstairs in bar, NO INTERNET in our room
Liked: This is a very nice Twin Room, above the ground floor bar, frequented by locals. Good food is available downstairs. Our room (#5) was quite comfortable and included a narrow, enclosed terrace, but no refrigerator. Ample parking provided. There is an outdoor terrace with tables. The property is within easy driving reach of Santander, Altamira, and Bay of Biscay beaches through pleasant countryside. We stayed a second night to allow exploring the area. Price was very reasonable, 36€/night for 2, Thu/Fri, late April.
Disliked: The reduced rating is mostly due to the complete failure of wifi internet in our room. The friendly bar staff was of no help solving this problem and did not ask anyone higher up. We could only get online in the bar, during its open hours. This could not be just a one time issue. The two rooms with enclosed balconies (4, 5) have no ventilation except the operable windows. Since they are right above a busy street, you have a choice of fresh air or muffled traffic noise, but not both, except late at night.
