  Run-down hotel in the hills around Santillana del Mar

  Liked: Ample parking is available on the premises.

  Disliked: The hotel is located outside the city and is in dire need of renovation. The walls were so thin that at night you could hear the neighbours in their bathroom. The room was humid, there was no aircon, and the overall interior was looking rather tired. There were no light switches or electrical outlets next to the bed, and there was neither a refrigerator nor a desk. The switch covers kept falling off. The floor gave way in places when walking, and there was a pillar in the middle of the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was bland. The same daily special was offered every day. Absolutely disappointing for the price. I wouldn’t stay there again.

  Do not stay in the room on the ground floor. You will not be able to sleep due to contant noises

  Disliked: Put in a ground floor room where all other gusts have to pass by outside our bedroom window as this is the only entry/exit into the hotel. There were also tables & chairs outside our bedroom window with other guests eating & drinking, it was so noisy for us in our room, we couldn't open our window because of the noise & there was no air conditioning in the room. There was a wedding party with guests arriving back at all hours & having conversations with each other outside our bedroom window. Besides the noise from outside the bedroom window, the entrance to our room was right outside the lift lobby & staircase to all other rooms, so there we could always here people moving around outside the door as well. We had requested a different room as soon as we had seen the location (before unpacking) but the hotel staff would not consider moving us to a different room.
