  A peaceful, restorative escape in the heart of Barcenaciones—perfect for slowing down, recharging, and embracing the bea

  Liked: We booked La Tierruca hoping for a calm, quiet escape after training for an Ironman—a place to recover, slow down, and unwind from the pace of everyday life. It exceeded every expectation. The villa was wonderfully cozy and impeccably clean, nestled in the heart of the small, charming village of Barcenaciones. Surrounded by lush green fields and the gentle sound of cowbells in the background, it offered the kind of peace that is increasingly hard to find. Jesús was an exceptional host: always available, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants and nearby towns to visit, while making sure that everything we needed was taken care of throughout our stay. There are also a couple of lovely local restaurants in the village serving delicious food, which made the experience even more authentic and relaxing. We especially enjoyed the small walking trail around the village—perfect for peaceful morning strolls among the greenery. La Tierruca is a beautiful place to rest, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the quiet charm of rural Cantabria. We would absolutely return and wholeheartedly recommend it.
