  Won't be coming back

  Liked: Very little apart from the impressive lounge area

  Disliked: Room had a chemical smell. No additional facilities in the room eg tea, coffee, even tissues. Dinner and breakfast mediocre

  Old-school fancy hotels still exist… and this one even has a decent car charging station

  Liked: The car charging situation is pretty good (22kW, Iberdrola-compatible), especially if you hook your car up when you check in so that it’s ready to be moved before you go to bed. The “rollaway” child bed was frankly better than a lot of the “real” beds we’ve encountered this trip. The stained-glass ceiling was gorgeous and made me wish I had time to sit in the lobby and read/relax under it.

  Disliked: The cleanliness of the bathroom and beds were fine, but the carpet in the room could use a shampooing (or replacing with something lower-maintenance)

  Great stay, staff need to smile and be less serious

  Liked: This is a 4 star hotel but actually feels like a 5 star. I really enjoyed staying here and enjoyed the evening dinner and the gardens.

  Disliked: The only thing I didn’t like is that every member of staff I came across (apart from the life guard) were very miserable.

  Nice, but not a family vibe

  Liked: Rooms were big, there was a pool & staff were overall nice. Breakfast was good. There was an amazing 'hole in the wall' Peruvian restaurant just across the road.

  Disliked: It didn't really feel like a family hotel - there were a lot of buses of older people on tours coming through and I don't think all of those people appreciated our young kids! The pool had the same vibe - so perhaps nicer if you're older, but as a family I'm not sure it was exactly what we were looking for. Also room service didn't start until 8pm which was challenging to get the kids in bed for an early night after a long drive!

Hotel Cándido is located in a quiet area of Segovia, 7 minutes' drive from the city's famous aqueduct. It features a spa, an outdoor pool during the summer season and classic-style rooms with free WiFi.
