Exceptional
Magical. Serene. The perfect location. Pool is immaculate and in the middle of everything. Absolutely will stay again
Liked: Location was incredible. Especially since most things we did were near Eden and El Paraiso and the other places we hung out. Even though the pool is amazing we didn’t use it. Wish we had it far exceeded our expectations. Dorota was an incredible greeter for the property and showed us all of the things. The views are incomparable. We were two singles so two bedrooms and two bathrooms was amazing. But would also be incredible for two couples. I cannot wait to go back. Didn’t want to leave.
Disliked: Only two things. There was a smell from either the AC unit or the plumbing. And the AC unit cannot be left on when you leave. It is sensor controlled so know this before going if That’s important to you. And we received instructions about the promote sun blinds however one of the arms snapped from the wind as they were rusted a bit but they were so apologetic and lovely about it. And it is only one part thankfully. It’s not a criticism just be aware of this.
Fab apartment in great location with fantastic views
Liked: The apartment was well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay and completely matches the photos. The location is fantastic, a short walk away from the station, the town centre and lots of bars and restaurants. The views from the terrace/bedrooms are absolutely stunning.
Disliked: There is little not to like.

Disliked: Bedrooms too small, bathrooms too small, bedding of poor quality and beds small, only 1 bath towel per person provided, plumbing in one bedroom faulty such that toilet did not flush intermittently and waste from kitchen would come through the shower drainage. Kitchenware such as kettle and toaster of basic quality. No pool access even in season.

Superb apartment in a great location
Liked: This is a secure, high standard, modern apartment which looks exactly like the photographs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms were adequate in size with the space in each bathroom optimised; both power showers worked perfectly. The aircon took a few minutes to work out but it engages when all the windowns locked; essential in hot July! The sunrises from the balcony every morning as you look towards Malaga were stunning. The balcony gives fantastic views of Carihuela, the promenade and the ferris wheel at Benalmadena. Along with the hypnotic sound of the waves, 24/7, it was very enjoyable spending many evenings watching the world go by. The outdoor furniture is functional and the seats comfortable. For us the location of the apartment is perhaps its greatest asset. It is literally a couple of minutes from the beach, Playa Rincon and a wide range of restaurants, supermarkets and shops (check out Granier bakery on the promenade and Dona Gabriella’s Italian restaurant). Using the provided swipe card, it is simply a short walk, first to the lifts, followed by the elevator to the promenade. Playa Rincon is considerably quieter than other parts of Carihuela which we found more appealing and spent many days there. We would recommend purchasing a parasol from one of the nearby beach shops. The apartment also has a large swimming pool which some very attentive lifeguards who should be commended for not tolerating inconsiderate behaviour towards other pool users. The water temperature was just right and it was very relaxing spending time in the water and enjoying the breeze. There are sunbeds for hire at 3 euro per day. Alicia was a very good host, replying quickly on Whatsapp and was considerate in bringing some essentials to the apartment on our arrival. She was very pleasant and welcoming and took time to ensure when we had settled in. We had a very enjoyable stay at Varandas Do Mar and would highly recommend it.
Disliked: There is enough space on the balcony for two sun loungers and this is something the owners might wish to consider for the future. There are no beach essentials provided in the apartment, which I think is an oversight given the proximity to the beach. Some of the sunbeds in the pool area were in need of replacement. We did have a problem with a noisy neighbour who insisted on playing their TV loudly almost every night from around midnight but there seemed to be little that could be done to resolve this.
