Fabulous
Very good place - highly recommended
Very good accommodation
Liked: The apartment layout was excellent. The location is a long way above the town and difficult to get to without a car. The ski bus only goes every 45 minutes. However, we were able to walk (fairly flat) 200m to the ski slope, which took us down to the Giggijoch Tal gondola. We returned the same way. Not exactly ski-in-ski-out but not bad.
Disliked: Whilst the agents, Acasa, were efficient, I was bombarded with e-mails and did not find the on-line check-in user friendly.
For Sölden standards price and accommodation value in balance
Liked: Rather complete equiped appartement and well kept
Disliked: During a full week no new sheets or towels (possible at high additional costs and no cleaning. No reception at the premises so all by phone or email
Liked: 1. The apartment itself was clean, spacious and modern. 2. The kitchen was well equipped and modern. 3. The location was quiet and away from the nightlife.
Disliked: 1. The location was definitely not ski-in/ ski-out and actually quite far from the gondolas 2. The bus that comes to just outside the hotel does not go to the Giggijoch station and is about once every 45mins. Having a car definitely helps for this location. 3. The check-in times are misleading. Whilst you technically can check in from 8am-8pm (or along those times), you actually cannot get into the room until 4pm. So if you go to collect the keys early, you still need to wait to get access to the apartment itself which they are very strict on. 4. Finally, the check in location is in the town centre but the apartment is right on top of the hill so you need to account for that. The check-in desk will hold your luggage but then you need to make sure the taxi drops you off at the right place.
Comfortable apartment, easy access to the slopes
Liked: Comfortable apartment, with a complete kitchen, right next to the bus stop that takes you directly to the gondola. Also only a 8 mins walk from the funicular for when the bus is not running. We took the bus every morning, and were at the gondola in 5 mins and took the funicular back, In total it won’t take you more than 15 mins.
Disliked: Our apartment was next to the kitchen of a pizzeria. While the noise was not as much of an issue as we expected, it did smell like pizza in one of the rooms and the apartment. Also, for the price, you’d expect some basic amenities such as soap, shampoo body wash and etc. They also charge 10 euros for a new set of towels. Not that we needed it, but it cheapens the experience after paying a premium price. First time I’ve experienced this in Austria at this price level.
Very good
Liked: Then apartment was very good, up above Solden with nice balcony and excellent views of the valley and the mountains. It is walking distance to the red run down to Giggijoch, close enough to classify as ski in ski out if you can manage the red. Well-equipped for self-catering, comfy couch which conveniently is also a sleeper and provides some flexibility on sleeping arrangements if needed. We had a missing shelf in the fridge door and the maintenance guy scrambled around pronto to find a replacement, and we asked for other pillows which were promptly sent over. Plenty of room in the ski storage and nice to have a sauna / steam room downstairs. Convenient laundry service provided by dropping off at the main reception in town - not too costly either. We asked for more room keys - no problem
Disliked: Some minor items: The restaurant downstairs is popular and makes good pizza but the smell does permeate the corridors (at least on 1st floor). Fortunately not into the unit. Suggest extra extraction fans / doors to the restaurant kitchen. The wifi kicks you off each time you go out. The room key doesn't work until the exact check-in time
