It is not the palace of Versailles, nor Chambord, but to our standards it was just fine!

Liked: Very spacious apartment, very clean, nice terrace with large garden, it was nicely warm inside, very close to a Carrefour supermarket & bowling place, close to the town center and the war musea (all at walking distance), good places to eat in town (for a quick snack I recommend sandwich shop TOMaTINE: superb crispy rolls of bread filled with your liking, freshly prepared and served by two very lovely ladies, best we ever had!), and not to forget: the budget pricing of the accommodation leaves you extra space in your wallet to pay for the museum entrance tickets and your culinary escapades.

Disliked: Upon arrival I expected an email or text message from the hosts with the basic information: key box located at the left/right side of house, code XXXX. That didn't come, so I figured they sent the info via my Booking.com account, which they did. Unfortunately, in Bastogne we had no internet connection. A friendly guy in a bistro logged me in on their WIFI and I found the info. That can be improved. Further, whereas the budget pricing of the accommodation is a boon, you'll need to accept that a handyman has been at work, fixing drain pipes with duct tape, etcetera. When waking up at night, you'll discover some strange noises the house makes for your entertainment (but nevertheless we slept well!).

Furnaces and hot water turn off in night

    Liked: Location, quiet.

Disliked: The furnaces and hot water were either on a timer or ran off solar because in the early hours of the morning we all woke up freezing. I went to warm up at 2 am with a hot shower and there was no hot water. We tried again at 4 and there still wasn't hot water. It was back on by 7 am but we pay for basic necessities like heat when we stay places, we expect it. The owner says everything worked and ignored my request for a refund. I liked the home, I really I did. The lack of heat is unacceptable.
