Liked: The cabin itself was fine: well designed, quiet, and in a beautiful spot near La Roche-en-Ardenne.

Disliked: On our second day we came back from a hike around 4 PM and the cabin felt warmer than when we left. Just after 5 PM we found out why: the sauna had switched itself on while we were out and was heating to around 140 °C. The off button on the control panel did nothing, we couldn't find an emergency switch, and the circuit breakers were locked away. We called the host, who couldn't stop the sauna or tell us how to. No alternative accommodation was offered. We were simply told we could leave if we wanted to. As we didn't feel safe in a wooden cabin with a sauna we couldn't switch off, we left a night early. The host refunded the second night, which we appreciate. But for €420 I'd expect a way to shut off the sauna in an emergency, and a more serious response when guests report a heater they can't turn off.

Liked: Everything gives a wow feeling from the first moment. The view with endless glass panes, the materials used, the bed nests, the cleanliness. It was a safe haven from -10 degrees outside with snow and, for a 'hut', has some serious climate installation game going on. The kitchen is well equipped, no need to bring or buy anything related. The beds, showers and sauna are cozy. This hut makes you get in tune with nature's rhythm and immediately slow you down. Would recommend!

Disliked: As others said, there is no real room to store your luggage which is awkward when unpacking. We travelled with a baby so we had to get creative in storing and organizing our stuff. But in this hut with all it's nooks that's not a problem in the end.

One of the best stay we had in a while, everything was perfect, practical for cooking, convenient location, the sauna is

Liked: The place is absolutely amazing, we had a hard time getting out in the rain to be very honest.. when it was so comfortable and welcoming

Disliked: A little sign on the way in the street could be welcome, at night with no lights and the rain we had to call the owner to get indications (we were 50m away but couldn’t find the entrance)

Amazing and brilliantly designed place to stay!

Liked: We loved Hutstuf - brilliant and cool design. The place was excellently equipped. The sauna was an added bonus. Great location very close to the town, but quiet, not overlooked. Great place to stay as a base in the Ardennes

    Disliked: Loved absolutely everything!
