So Disappointing Experience – Serious Concerns About Communication
Liked: On a positive note, Booking.com’s customer service was extremely helpful. They cancelled the booking immediately and refunded my money within just two hours. I greatly appreciate their prompt and professional service.
Disliked: Very Disappointing Experience – Serious Concerns About Communication I have serious concerns about how this booking was handled. I was contacted via WhatsApp from a phone number different from the one listed on Booking.com. I was initially offered a cash refund in Liège, but was later asked to provide my bank account details and bank card number, as the person claimed to be in France. This unusual process raised serious concerns, and I strongly advise guests to verify all communications and refund arrangements directly through Booking.com. At around 11:00 a.m. on the day of our scheduled arrival, I was informed that the apartment was extremely dirty and would not be ready until after 7:00 p.m. I was already driving from Germany to Liège with my pregnant wife and young child, and I had explained that waiting until the evening was not an option for us. Being informed of such a serious issue at the last minute was completely unacceptable and caused considerable stress and inconvenience. Furthermore, the person communicating with me was a man, whereas the host was listed on Booking.com as Michelle. This discrepancy raised additional questions about the identity of the person contacting me. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and stressful experience. I advise future guests to exercise caution and handle all communication and refunds directly through Booking.com.

Liked: Cozy room. Comfortable bed, good location in a walkable area.

Liked: The apartment is situated in a nice place, close to the city center of Liege. The apartment is small but cozy. The keys were provided in a box outside the building, but we found them very quickly.
Disliked: The bed was too smooth. There is no kettle for the coffee.
Once we overcame the obstacle of entry, things were good for us
Liked: It had everything we needed.
Disliked: It was a real challenge getting in. If we hadn’t had help from a kind passerby, we wouldn’t have found the keybox. And then a resident let us in and helped us find the room. The owner was apologetic (and out of town) but other people prevented a disaster…a room we couldn’t access.
Good place to stay downtown in the city!
Liked: Well located! And easy to park in the area. Very quiet with windows on the courtyard
Disliked: Smell in the corridor is really bad, and the bathroom needs to be rebuild (eg water tap is about to fall down)
