  A truly authentic Loire experience

  Liked: This is a beautiful, authentic French apartment at the foot of Châtea Royal d’Amboise in walking distance to all of Amboise’s sights, cafés and restaurants. Beautifully equipped and comfortable and love the working old shutters for extra privacy. It made an excellent base for this part of the Loire.

  Disliked: It is near a busy road but the shutters help.

  Really enjoyed our stay at the accommodation in Amboise

  Liked: A fantastic location close to tourist attractions, bike hire and restaurants. About 15 mins easy walk to train station. Comfortable and spacious accommodation.

  Disliked: It would be good to have more dishwasher tablets and toilet paper for longer stays (6 days)

  Beautiful apartment in the best location

  Liked: The location is top, right in the centre. The apartment is spacious & stylishly set up. Although the bedroom faces a busy road, it was quiet when the windows are closed.

  Disliked: The terrace could be cleaner.. We had to clean the table & chairs before we could use it. The terrace light switches off automatically after a few minutes, even though we were still sitting outside. We had to get up several times to go into the apartment to switch the light on again & again, which was annoying. The light in the bathroom was rather dim, especially to put makeup on.

  Character and charm but with modern amenities

  Liked: The location is right in the heart of Amboise so it was easy to visit shops and restaurants. The apartment is in a historic building, so it has character and charm, but it has been updated with modern amenities. The apartment is comfortably furnished, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hosts provided detailed information not just about how things worked in the apartment but also about the area attractions.

  Disliked: There is no dedicated parking, and finding street parking was not always easy. The apartment has two steps between the bathroom and the living area, which wasn't really a problem, but it is a consideration if you need to use the bathroom during the night. There are also two steps from the living area to the shower room, and they are not the same height, which makes it easy to trip. It wasn't a serious problem, but you do need to careful to avoid tripping.

  Great spot to base a trip around Loire Valley

  Liked: Great location, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice art work and lots of character. Hosts did an amazing job with the instructions and suggestions.

  Disliked: Just missed a couple of small items e.g washing machine powder, hand towels..
