A school camp doubles as a hotel?

Liked: Large spacious site with lots of space to dine and relax. No dinner but a small cafe/bar on site. Room was in seperate building. Breakfast was OK. Parking was expansive but for my motorcycle was not secure. Staff kindly allowed me to park by the building. Too hot to explore but seemed like there would be extensive walking/running trails. Room was adequate but no kettle.

Disliked: More like a school camp location with lots of kids hanging about. Seemed like "hotel" users were just an addition for any empty rooms. Not much introduction given to the facilities. Not obvious how to find the entry or registration from the main road.

    More tailored to younger guests

Liked: The location on the lake is lovely. Unfortunately because of all the flooding, it was not possible to walk or cycle around the lake, but that is obviously not the hotel's fault.

Disliked: I was expecting a sort of glorified youth hostel, and was not far wrong. I was housed in a separate building. To get to my room I had to pass through a sort of lobby where a whole group of youngsters were engaged in some sort of organised training activity, which they had to stop every time I wanted to go in or out of the building. The same youngsters were also seemingly housed in my building and were unbelievably noisy in the evening, playing horrendously loud music and generally talking very loudly in the corridor. Fortunately they shut up in good time for the night! The room was incredibly basic - two single beds, night tables and two chairs that looked like they were taken from a canteen. Hanging space in the wardrobe but absolutely no shelving or drawer space for other items of clothing. Breakfast was a joke - I never have very high hopes for breakfast in French hotels, but this was my worst experience yet. Baguette, cake, one choice of cheese, butter and jam. Undrinkable coffee, no viennoiserie. Everything was very basic, but also not very expensive. I suppose it is true that you get what you pay for. It was fine for one night, but I couldn't have stayed any longer.
