Good room good location good for money but slightly expensive

Liked: Room was surprisingly big (6th floor and top floor) and shower and toilet were descent.

Disliked: It took me some time to work how how to use the hairdryer. Location is nice. Few minutes away from the train station Saint Michel Notre Dame so perfect from the airport. It just wasn’t that close as I thought from Saint Germaine.

We loved it and would recommend to others

Liked: Liked Decor, Staircase, Quirkiness of the building. Good Breakfast.

Disliked: The road outside was very noisy and the toilet in the bedroom was very tiny with not much space to move. However overall these did not detract from our stay.

Disliked: Unfortunately, our experience at Hôtel du Levant was extremely disappointing and left us with a very negative impression of the hospitality we received in Paris. When making the reservation, I accidentally booked the room for two people instead of three, forgetting to include our 8-year-old son. Coming from North America, where hotels are generally more flexible about families sharing a room, I honestly didn’t realize how strictly occupancy rules were enforced in France. It was an innocent mistake, and I fully understand that hotels have regulations they must follow. When we arrived, the young lady at the front desk was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. However, another lady from the back office noticed that our reservation was for two guests rather than three. Her attitude immediately changed the entire experience. She became visibly upset, not only with us but also with the young receptionist, who had done nothing wrong. I actually felt sorry for her. Instead of calmly explaining the situation and helping us find a reasonable solution, we were made to feel extremely unwelcome over what was simply an honest booking mistake. Eventually, we were told to cancel our reservation, with the understanding that the hotel would try to resell the room and refund us if they managed to do so. We followed their instructions, but despite my attempts to follow up, nobody responded or provided any updates about a possible refund. As a result, we had to find another hotel at the very last minute, paying significantly more than originally planned. This caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, and additional expenses during what was supposed to be an enjoyable family visit to Paris. What disappointed me most was not the hotel’s occupancy policy, but the way the situation was handled. Rules are rules, and I respect that. However, hospitality is also about communication, understanding, and treating guests with respect, especially families travelling with children.

    Stay here, you’ll enjoy it

Liked: Great Paris vibe. The staff were excellent. Plenty of food right on the street. Facilities really were very good. Really no complaints. Good French breakfast offered with the price of the room.

    Disliked: Nothing.
