Fabulous
Retreat from the world
Liked: This was idyllic. The view from inside the apartment was breathtaking, and the town itself was beyond charming. Exactly the retreat from the world we needed. The apartment itself was perfectly situated between the lake and the city of Berchtesgaden, and while the walk down to the lake was an easy and beautiful 30 min, their transit system all around was en Pointe and very reliable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, you could choose to add their lovely full breakfast to your stay, or decide day by day to buy it or not. The kitchen was sufficient for most use, but no oven so don't plan on baking a pizza, for example. I just cannot say enough about how beautiful, peaceful, and perfect it was for us. The whole experience has this town and these lodgings at the very top of all the places we visited in both Austria and all of Southern Germany.
Disliked: Well, in order to gain that gorgeous view, they are elevated above the pasture that separates them from the main road, so the walk up the street is a little steep, especially for folks pulling/carrying luggage. But we got used to it, and so will you. The location is 200% worth it.
Lovely apartment near Königsee
Liked: We stayed in the studio apartment. It was impeccably clean and the beds were very comfortable. We hadn't ordered breakfast in advance but the host was able to accommodate us on the spot. Speaking of which, the breakfast is spectacular: eggs with bacon made to order, exquisite rolls, plentiful coffee and a wide selection of juices. If we were so inclined, there was even cold prosecco. Our studio had a private outdoor sitting area overlooking a meadow. Brilliant!
Disliked: Everything was lovely. Parking can be tight if you return late but it all worked out because we had a small car.
Liked: Fantastic views
Great location, comfortable unit
Liked: Location was fantastic, you can sit outside and enjoy the view, the room was well appointed as a self contained unit. The entry to the building was a little different as it felt like someone’s home, but once accessed it was good. Staff couldn’t speak any English at all, but we managed.
Disliked: Nothing
Liked: Spacious, good location amd stunning view. Hosts were kind to help with ice cubes.
Disliked: Bar fridge really tiny, inadequate for self-catering apartment. Dinner plates too big for dishwasher.
A good place to stay
Liked: It is a nice appartment with a nice view of the mountains. Very comfortable beds, we slept very well. Close to walking and hiking paths. We stayed for 6 nights but it would be perfect for a longer stay as well.
Disliked: The bathroom is very new en has a lot of space, very nice, but the water is often quite cold, especially in the evening. So, although there is a bathtub you cannot really take a bath.
