  Great location but not ideal for us

  Liked: In a very good location, accessible to the old town and the castle. Was clean and well equipped.

  Disliked: Parking locally is a nightmare. You can’t even unload at the property. Would better suit someone with no car. We had real trouble getting a space within half a kilometre of the house and the terrain is very steep so be prepared to carry what you have up and down steep hills. The layout is also quite tricky for a family because each floor is so small. There is enough space overall but we needed to have only two people in the kitchen to cook while the other two sat on a different floor. It was also quite irritating to pay nearly €600 for 2 nights then to get a WhatsApp asking for another €80 because we had 2 poodles. The owner said this was in the listing but I couldn’t see it. Also all of the towels were still in the tumble dryer when we arrived - this isn’t a massive thing but I was annoyed already after carrying our stuff up and down the big hill from the car. It’s also worth noting that there is nowhere locally to charge an electric car. We had to go to the train station and even then it was a slow charger.

  Disliked: False claims for free parking meant we could not stay. Management company Holidu GmbH will bombard you will condescending emails. Lost £435 over this. Avoid this property and save yourself stress. Hope this helps someone not make the same mistake.

  A fantastic house in the heart of old town Cochem – such a beautiful place!

  Liked: This house is fantastic – located in the heart of the old town, just steps away from restaurants, cafés, and shops. We absolutely loved it. We stayed here with our four children, and it worked brilliantly. The kids especially loved the top floor room, which accommodated them all and felt like their own space. The house is spotless, very well equipped, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

  Disliked: Nothing – we had a wonderful stay and couldn’t fault the property.
