Liked: Breakfast was excellent and enough. Location close to all attractions in the city and room with a view on the valley. Personnel at the hotel was very friendly.
Excellent location, large room, older Hotel, that could use a few upgrades
Liked: The hotel has a lot of character. The room was very large. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast room was very quaint.
Disliked: The mattresses were old and soft. The room had carpet, which is not modern for a hotel room, on the other hand this is a historic building and maybe they’re trying to do it in the period
A rough start
Liked: Perfect location. Good breakfast with wonderful view.
Disliked: The first key we got didn't let us into the building. After changing it. The key to the room didn't work either and had to be changed. After a long day's drive. That first half hour messing about didn't give a great first impression. When we finally got into the room there were multiple cobwebs hanging from the ceiling which further reduced the first impression... The following day the breakfast was a farce. They seem seriously understaffed. We arrived 50 minutes before the end of the breakfast time. The hot food was empty, the coffee machine was having problems, the very nice fresh butter machine was empty, one of the juices was empty, and the dining room was full of empty tables full of dirty dishes. I had to draw the young womans attention to the lack of warm dishes. And when it eventually got refilled, they only refilled one out of the original 3 dishes. When arriving at breakfast almost an hour before the end, in my opinion it is fair to expect all the choices to be available. A nice touch was the real silver things on the tables. However if covered in stains and looking dull. Then perhaps leave it... As a business owner myself. Every business can have a bad day... As we were only staying the one night, it is hard to judge if that was the case? Or if the management was subpar? I would however give them the benefit of the doubt and stay there again in the future. After the multiple issues with the keys during check-in and the multiple trips up and down the street to reception. A welcome gesture could have been to remove the parking charge from the bill to lighten the mood...
Liked: Great room on the second floor with views over the valley. Beds were comfortable and the room was nice and clean. Great German breakfast in a cozy breakfast room with a view over the valley. Private parking was convenient just around the corner.

Liked: Cosy and very central location. For us, a family of five, it was very nice to have the tables and rooms in the hotel for board games in the evening.
