Wonderful stay near the city wall
Liked: A perfect stay in a beautiful little house. The host was very friendly and attentive. We arrived more than 3 hours prior to the check-in time, and as our room was ready, she invited us to check in right away. It was super sweet and thoughtful of her. The room was clean and spacious for two people - we even had a sofa with a table. The mattresses were comfortable, we had a good sleep. The price is more than reasonable. The views from the window were great - I could see a part of the city wall and a tower! The breakfast was wonderful - a typical German breakfast. We got plenty of everything for two people. The host was very caring and even asked if we would like to have more tea (or coffee). I could barely breathe at the end! I would love to come back.
It’s a lovely, spacious and clean property that can use a facelift and friendly staff
Liked: Nice, quaint and spacious property, but not air-conditioned and no fans. It was almost 90 degrees Fahrenheit and it was hard to sleep without any kind of air. The hostess came across as unfriendly, to the point of rude, at first. Our trains were delayed and she texted me multiple times expressing her displeasure that we were late. Her last text said that she’d have to leave and if we were not there soon, we wouldn’t be able to stay there. Our trains were delayed, yes, but we also spent about an hour trying to find her place because the directions she gave me were not right and no one knew where her place was. At any rate, she did accommodate my son’s needs — he’s lactose-intolerant — by giving him lactose-free options for breakfast at a short notice. Checkout was at 10:30 a.m. and our train out was at 3 p.m., and she wouldn’t let us keep our luggage there because she had to go out. Thankfully, the tourism office let us keep our luggage in their offices.
Disliked: Not air-conditioned, no fans (in 90-degrees Fahrenheit heat), and unfriendly hostess.
