  Fabulous!

  Liked: The room was fabulous: the one in the tower of the old building. Very roomy. Probably the best room in the hotel. The raised bed space and high ceiling with views made it a space that we did not want to leave. The high window sill and arched windows gave it a specially private feel. The armchair was actually comfortable and we used it. Because the bedroom was raised we could leave our bags on the lower level and have the bed space free of clutter. Mattress and pillows were great, especially the pillows. Quality of the fitout was extremely high: the curtains over the tall windows were of the highest quality. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best. On site parking was good too, though tight. Staff were good. Location was fabulous: right beside the garden of Goethe's house and a few steps from the nicest part of town. You were both in the heart of the city and just outside it at the same time, opposite a little park over the car park. Weimar is a beautiful city, full of museums excellently managed by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. And the Park an der Ilm is extraordinary. As a tourist experience, Weimar+Dorint was one of the best we have experienced. And good value; it felt a lot more expensive than it was.

  Disliked: Only some design issues, in particular the lack of powerpoints beside the bed. None on the left side and the one on the right was under everything and you had to remove the light. As usual the light switch triggered bathroom fan is too noisy and goes on for hours which is disrupting if someone gets up in the night. As usual, the wifi was unsecured.

  Lovely hotel and staff, great location

  Liked: Lovely hotel and great location. Really nice professional staff. Room very comfortable and comfortable bed.

  Disliked: Parking in the underground garage was confusing. We arrived on two motorcycles and the reason in choosing the hotel was because of the secure garage. The receptionist told us we cannot park them in the underground garage but we could park ‘next to the stairs’ however this was still in the underground garage. When I fed this back after we left I was told we could park them in their garage (which we did anyway) but this should have been made clearer when checking in.

  Outstanding comfort and service next to Goethepark

  Liked: A very comfortable hotel! Directly next to Goethepark, with a car parking garage right underneath the hotel (extra charge). The room was very spacious, the beds very comfortable. The breakfast wasn’t included in our rate but we booked it separately, and it was absolutely worth it - very large selection, with many healthy options (and so nourishing it saved us lunch both days of our stay!) An additional pleasant surprise was the hotel‘s restaurant („Bettina von Armin“, also accessible from the outside). We had a very special 4 course dinner there, with exquisite choices of matching wines for each course, and outstanding service, with very knowledgeable explanations for each course and wines. Memorable, and highly recommended for a special occasion.

  Disliked: There was nothing not to like! The only comment I have is that the parking slots in the Dorint hotel side (right turn) are very tight to get in and out of. However it is equally possible to park in the Beethovenplatz on the left hand side (same entry from the road) - here the spaces are much more spacious and easier to manoeuvre.
