  Lovely house by the sea, just be ready for planes

  Liked: The location is great, easy drive to Argostoli, and the beach is literally next to the house. It’s a nice beach too, clean, with sunbeds and a canteen where you can grab water and drinks. The maisonette is spacious and the area is calm and quiet. Pet friendly, which mattered a lot for us. The staff were helpful and quick to respond. The house sits right by the airport, so you get planes coming in low over the garden. They're close enough that you can practically touch them, which we loved. Watching them come in over the sea became one of our favourite bits of the trip. Planes come and go often and it’s a bit loud. If you’re okay with that it won’t bother you, but it’s worth knowing before you book. I should also say my cat scratched the armrest of the sofa. I offered to pay for it and the owner kindly said it wasn't necessary, but the offer still stands.

  Disliked: The maisonette got quite hot inside during the day, and staff would come in to switch off the A/C even when we'd only been out for half an hour, so we'd come back to a warm room with our pet inside. I understand this may be house policy, it just wasn't what we were hoping for after a long day out. There was also a moment when my friend was outside on the phone and opened the door, and someone made to come in while I was inside getting dressed. She tried to hold the door and it was a bit awkward for everyone. Nothing terrible happened, but waiting to be invited in would have made it much easier. There was a small patch on the stone in the bathroom that looked like mould to us. We kept the window open all week and it was fine, but it may be worth a look. I should also say my cat scratched the armrest of the sofa. I offered to pay for it and the owner kindly said it wasn't necessary, but the offer still stands.

  Peaceful stay by the airport

  Liked: Great location, very close to the airport and very quiet. The house was clean and the welcome gift was a nice surprise! The regular cleaning also made the stay even more pleasant. Jerry and his staff were all very kind too!

  Disliked: The steps of the staircase are narrow so might be challenging to some people

  We felt very welcome and had a lovely stay. Thank you Jerry for all your fantastic help

  Liked: The Cottage felt very homely and private. Jerrys communication was fantastic. Anything you needed and he was there. The welcome bottle of wine, water and juice was very welcome. Jerrys restaurant recommendations were fantastic. Very rustic feel and quiet location. The novelty of being by the runway was great as well. 2 great beaches within 5 minutes of the cottage.

  Disliked: The stairs were a little steep and needed extra care when using them. The shower area could be a little bit bigger.
