Exceptional
Liked: A great base for discovering Monemvasia! Monemvasia Modern Flat was a great choice for our stay in the area. The apartment has a fresh, modern feel, a practical layout, and a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home. We particularly liked having a comfortable space to unwind after exploring the stunning medieval town and nearby beaches. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, making our stay easy and enjoyable, especially when travelling with a child. A lovely place to stay while discovering Monemvasia and its beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended!
Cozy and comfortable stay
Liked: The location is very good as it is walking distance from the castle. The area is very nice. Mara's suggestions were very nice too.

Big kitchen, small hospitality
Liked: Communication: Check-in information was missing until I asked shortly before arrival, while check-out details were requested very insistently early in the morning the day before. Interior: The apartment didn’t match the photos - I was welcomed by the oldest carpet I’ve ever seen and a sofa carefully buried under two blankets, as if protecting it from guests rather than hosting them. Bathroom: Photos of the bathroom are missing for a reason - it’s so tiny that you cannot shower without touching the curtain, walls, or shelves with your freshly washed body. The 20-minute heating timer suggested by the hosts might work for a quick rinse, but if you plan to wash your hair, use shampoo and conditioner, and clean yourself properly, expect to finish with cold water… Sleep & Night: The bedroom itself is fine, but as for winter bedding… well, there isn’t really any. I was given a 100% polyester blanket and a single sheet. Somewhere in the wardrobe I found folded a cotton one...
Disliked: The 1st night was unforgettable. The emergency light, normally a calm pale green, turned into a full-on torture spotlight while en electricity outage was in progress, switching on and off every half hour, making sleep nearly impossible. Upstairs neighbors celebrated… something… with the energy of a World Cup final, and once I finally dozed off in the early morning, nearby church bells started ringing, followed immediately by pop songs. And then, just to top it off, I received a message from the hosts reminding me to leave in advance! The next night was slightly better. The apt is on a semi-basement, with minimal privacy. For a 2-night stay, you’re better off staying directly in Monemvasia itself, not in the city- lesson learned, my bad. The place is called “Modern,” but honestly, I’d have preferred something vintage on the island: plenty of charming hotels with great views, and even breakfast included. ID & sensitive data: The hosts asked me to provide my ID twice and took photos of both sides each time. If they need a specific number, they can just ask for that- I don’t see why full ID scans are necessary, as all information on an ID or card is sensitive data and must be handled responsibly. From my side, I might also like to have copies of the hosts’ IDs for safety, but that’s not how Booking operates. The main feature of the apartment seems to be the huge kitchen… but who comes on vacation to cook? I enjoyed the coffee machine, thanks, but finding only three teaspoons of sugar was… surprising. Big kitchen, small hospitality. …and to top off the experience, after doing my laundry, I discovered someone else’s underwear in the washing machine. Just to make my stay truly unforgettable. And finally, thank you for allowing me to stay with my dog at no extra charge. However, considering the 100€ per night in January and all the issues mentioned above, I’d say the cost of having my dog already comes included in the price.
