Exceptional
Liked: The apartment was super clean and comfortable. It has mostly everything that you need, though as stated in the listing bring your own shampoo/soap and extra toilet paper. The location is maybe 30 min walk to a central tourist area and the acropolis. The area has everything you need in 5-10 min walking distance. The rooftop plunge pool was such a gorgeous way to cool off after exploring all day in the sun. Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a spot a little bit further from tourist traps, but still convenient.
Ideal stay
Liked: Beautiful room, perfect location, very sweet and helpful housekeeper.
Liked: The property is close to the waterfront, bars, and restaurants.
Disliked: There is no elevator, and dragging a suitcase up the narrow stairs is quite inconvenient. There was neither soap nor shower gel in the room. We contacted the host about this problem, but they didn't help at all, saying that this had never happened before, so we had to go buy it ourselves. This happened at night, after a long trip. Also, there's construction right opposite the building. It gets very noisy starting at 8 AM.
Liked: Check in was easy once I made contact with the owner - he was quick to respond when contacted (he had an old email so I did not get the check in instructions initially). Friendly and obliging though never met him, all communication by WhatsApp, had an occasion to ask for something in the morning and the housekeeper had delivered before we got back later in the afternoon. Property has been recently refurbished, everything was in good condition, room was very small just about big enough for the double bed. Tea/coffee making facilities. Good shower with plenty of hot water plus soaps and towels provided plus hair drier. Location was excellent just off the front road of the old town quayside, 1 minute walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. Despite that, lication was quiet.
Disliked: A couple of minor things - Limited ability to dry towels after showering unless hung out of the window (which we did!) - No bedside light so had to get up to turn off main light.
Liked: Location was convenient, just off the main st. Nice local bar with a great sound system. Staff were available online only but responsive.
Disliked: Shower was over-complicated and hard to get a good and consistent temperature. This was apparently a known issue but no instructions given until we asked. View was marginal. This is basically a hotel room operating as an apartment.
Nice, clean and modern stay in Nafplio old town
Liked: This is the second year we stayed at Residenza Di Fedralia. We came back not only because it’s very central, modern and clean, but also the positive experience we had last year. We forgot a golden ring in the safe box and noticed this once we already arrived in Athens and were about to fly back. The hotel staff located it and handed it over to our local Greek friend and this year we were re-united with the ring. The facility is very nice and we would definitely go back.
Disliked: This year our room was not properly cooling down although it showed 17 degrees celcius. When we communicated with the staff about this we noticed that they were not very happy about this and told us to keep the temperature at 20 degrees as long as the weather is not hotter than 35 degrees celcius. The coffee machine was not working but after the reaction about the AC, we didn’t feel like we should approach them about this. Also beware of the very steep stairs if you have an issue walking.
