An Unforgettable Stay – The Best Sunset Experience in Oia
Liked: Our stay at Sophia Privilege Villa was wonderful, and the villa itself was excellent. It was exceptionally clean, with what I believe is one of the best sunset views in Oia. While everyone else was queuing in the streets looking for the perfect sunset spot, we were completely spoiled with our own private rooftop. We experienced some of the most unforgettable sunsets of our trip without even needing to leave the villa. From around 7–9 pm, we would simply relax on the comfortable rooftop mattress with a glass of wine and a charcuterie board, enjoying a private and romantic sunset dinner. It was truly special. The ground-level pool was another highlight. During the hottest hours of the August afternoons, around 1–5 pm, it was perfect for cooling down and relaxing while avoiding the strongest sun. We also loved staying in Oia with a car. The public parking was about a 10-minute walk away and we never had trouble finding a space or needed to book parking. Having a car was ideal for us because we enjoyed driving to a different beach every morning and exploring different parts of Santorini.The villa was also very well located for enjoying Oia, although it is worth knowing that Oia is considerably more expensive for restaurants and shopping compared with some other parts of the island. A special thank you to Deep, the cleaner, who was incredibly helpful and kind. He gave us the contact information we needed and also helped us with our luggage when we were leaving. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. The cleanliness, privacy, pool, location and especially the private rooftop sunset experience made it a very memorable stay. I would definitely recommend Sophia Privilege Villa, particularly to anyone travelling with a car and wanting to explore Santorini while still having a beautiful and peaceful place to return to.
Disliked: What I didn’t like The main thing that could be improved was the communication before arrival. We sent several messages asking for clear information about who would meet us at the parking area and how we could contact them, as we were arriving with suitcases and knew that Oia has narrow, busy streets. Unfortunately, the replies were quite generic and did not provide the practical information we needed. As a result, when we arrived, we had to carry our suitcases from the public parking area through the heat and busy tourist-filled streets until we eventually found the villa. This was quite difficult and stressful after travelling. Clearer instructions and a direct contact person before arrival would have made the check-in experience much easier. Apart from this, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the villa.

Disliked: The loft bedroom off the kitchen is really meant for young children, or young adults. Not great for a middle age person. Climbing the latter might be a challenge. Needless to say, great with its own bathroom/shower.
I tried to love this place but was mostly uncomfortable
Liked: The place was very spacious, and when the cat pooped on our porch, they were fairly quick to come clean it. The sunset views were amazing.
Disliked: The house is old, and the gate of the first-floor entrance does not actually lock. We constantly felt unsafe. The bathroom does not have good ventilation. Some of the amenities mentioned, like speakers, are missing from the house. The pool is in the basement, and it feels creepy to go there. The pool area also has poor ventilation, so it smells awful and is very humid. There are a lot of people walking by, so there is not a lot of privacy, especially during sunset. They did not provide any porters to come pick up our bags or drop them off at the next place.
Liked: It was a mansion in the most beautiful area of Santorini. The staff was really helpful and our host Cleopatra was on top of everything. Would really recommend this accommodation for young and old, couples and families. We had one of the greatest times of our lives in this place and this area.
Disliked: The area can be really crowded.
Disliked: Bathrooms needs deep cleaning.
