Beach hotels in Ireland
Hotels on the coast and the islands, a few steps from the sand.
How to choose a beach hotel
Beachfront or a little further back
A beachfront hotel gives you sea views and direct access to the sand, but it is usually more expensive and noisier in summer. Two or three streets back you gain quiet and a better price without losing the beach. Check the real distance on the map and whether you have to cross a road or a busy promenade.
What to check before booking
See whether the beach is sandy or pebbly, urban or natural, and whether the hotel has a pool, which is very handy on windy days or out of season. For families, aparthotels with a kitchen are a good option. In July and August many coastal hotels ask for a minimum stay.
