Fine for a night’s sleep, but you’d expect far more, and it’d be easy

Disliked: There was mould in several places in the bathroom: on the ceiling, on the shower curtain and on the shower head. The soap dispenser by the bathtub could not be used. In my view, mould is a serious health issue, and it was left unaddressed out of a general lack of care, not because fixing it would have been costly...

    Forgettable & regrettable

Liked: Nice location. The hotel is clean. Receptionists are friendly.

Disliked: I stayed there on two occasions and every time, the staff in the restaurant only catered for the people with local accents. It’s only a small restaurant with 15 tables maybe so there no excuse to leave somebody wait 40-50 minutes for a pint, while everyone else around gets served two courses and three rounds of drinks. Very disappointing for an Irish hotel in the countryside. Stayed other places before and people will go out of their way to cater for you, but not here, so I’ll avoid the place next tine I’m in Ennis.

    Forgettable and regrettable

Liked: Nice location. Reasonably friendly reception staff. Good food at breakfast and restaurant.

Disliked: The staff in the restaurant only seem to cater for the people with local accents. In my case, I had to walk away from the restaurant after waiting 40 minutes for somebody to ask me if I want another beer. Had a main and a beer and then that was it, everyone around had a starter, a main and two round of drinks at least. The restaurant staff kept passing my table looking the other way. When I finally went to the bar to settle the bill and questioned them, I got the classic “we’re very busy tonight”. Well, yeah, you were busy with who spoke with the correct accent, isn’t it? The whole thing can be seen on the restaurant’s CCTV, if the owners care, but they probably don’t.
