  I had a great short stay at the Black Cat while in Galway for work. It’s in Salthill rather than the city centre, but it

  Liked: I really liked the Black Cat. It was quiet, extremely clean and felt fresh from the moment I walked in. Self check-in was convenient, and the tea facilities on every floor were a lovely touch. The value was excellent—a private en-suite room in a small boutique hotel for what you might pay for a hostel. The room was small but perfect for one person staying a night or two, and I much preferred having my own space.

  Disliked: There was nothing I particularly disliked. The building itself was quiet, although there was some street noise. That’s outside the hotel’s control, and I had earplugs with me, so it wasn’t an issue. Overall, it was perfect for my stay and excellent value for the price paid.

  Great location

  Liked: The location is great right in the heart of Salthill. The bed was comfortable and room nice and airy.

  Disliked: 145e for a single bedroom I found quite steep. I would have liked if check out could be 12 and not 11. It can be a bit loud hearing others enter their rooms during the night.
