    Dangerously left without accommodation

Liked: Host/ owner has not responded and left a sign at the accommodation saying it was closed and that booking.com should inform us. We we left on the street after taking a €20 taxi to arrive there. This is a failure of both Booking.com and this host.

Disliked: Unfortunately the first impression wasn't great, we were knocking for what seemed a long time before the owner answered the door. When he did answer it was as though he wasn't expecting us, although we had received notification we could check in between 12.00/1.00 this was 12.30. He did say our room wasn't ready as the previous guests were late leaving. We left our bags in the room and went back late afternoon. The room had obviously not been cleaned it was very dusty and the bed sheets were stained. We couldn't stay there and felt extremely guilty when telling the owner we were leaving. Thankfully we found somewhere else to stay. I hate leaving a bad review but think people need to be aware the house is extremely dated and does need a deep clean.

Lovely host and great location. Would recommend

Liked: Larry is a lovely, friendly host and a kind man. Location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk to Spanish arch and really close to Salthill beach too. Breakfast was lovely, Larry offered either pancakes or bacon and egg and there was bread and fruit in baskets available too. I had the bacon and egg and a kiwi and everything was delicious. WiFi worked great and password was clear in the bedroom. Bed was super comfortable and a cosy blanket was provided too which was a great touch.

Disliked: The bed sheets could do with replacing. I think the listing needs to be more clear that it is cash only, it’s in a section way down the listing so I didn’t realise that at all until I went to check out and then had to go to an ATM. This is unfortunate as I wanted to expense my stay in work but haven’t received a receipt or invoice or similar. I think the property could also do with some black towels or mention that all the towels are white as there was a sign asking not to remove makeup with towels but as someone who wears fake tan it’s quite difficult not to get any at all on a white towel. I would suggest bringing your own towel if you also wear tan.

Frendly host, good location for value

Liked: Larry was a gentleman, very friendly and was happy to help with anything asked, breakfast was well met after a hard night of chicanery
