Liked: We spent three wonderful days here and loved every minute of our stay. The beautiful setting, overlooking the olive groves of Umbria, made us feel completely immersed in the Italian countryside. There are numerous hiking trails nearby, ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging hikes, making it a great choice for those who enjoy the outdoors. The charming town of Assisi is also just a 15-minute drive away. The restaurant was another highlight, serving fresh, delicious food made with local ingredients. One important thing to note is that a car is essential to fully enjoy the property and explore the surrounding area. Overall, a lovely place to experience the beauty, food, and tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside. We would happily recommend it!
Disliked: There was nothing to complain about; however, you need to be confident driving up the winding, narrow road to the property, which is wide enough for only one car.

Magical, serene stay near beautiful Assisi
Liked: Le Mandrie is a special place where you can take a breath and relax simply looking out at the expansive view and towards Assisi. The accomodation is comfortable and welcoming, with ramps for easy access for luggage. Access with a car is best and well signposted to help you find your way. We ate at the restaurant for dinner twice and had breakfast every morning. All the staff care deeply about their food, which was delicious, every meal made with love. Le Mandrie feels like staying with family. This was our the perfect end to our five week holiday in Italy.
Disliked: We had a small kitchenette in our suite with a kettle, fridge, sink and crockery. Just noting that you will need to buy your own supplies, such as coffee, tea etc. it was fairly limited if you wanted to cook a basic meal. We weren’t expecting this, so not an issue for us, but may have been lovely to sit with a cuppa!
