Beautiful old school hotel with high standards
Liked: The lakeside location and beautiful views were brilliant and meant we were in the centre of Como but not mixed up in the hurly burly of what is a very busy resort. The hotel has a “belle epoch” interior and is old school grand. Staffing and service are very traditional and of a very high standard. The whole place is immaculately clean and tidy. The views from the substantial balcony terrace were wonderful and provided a quiet spot at the end of the day.
Disliked: Whilst breakfast was substantial and very high quality we found the evening menu a little disappointing and expensive. There are better places nearby. One thing that’s not the hotel’s fault but be prepared the mosquitoes on Lake Como are huge and hungry and numerous. Go prepared.

Good quaint hotel right on the lake
Liked: We had some trouble finding really fantastic hotels in Come and this one was very nice but not stellar. The location is good, right on the lake, easy access to the town and restaurants. The outside area is lovely. They have a very pretty bar/restaurant with cut lights. We had dinner there and enjoyed it. The rest of the hotel is historic so a bit weird. There are a bunch of winding hallways which are confusing. The corridors are tight and stuffy. The rooms were fine but not huge and not super modern. It was a good experience but the rooms could be a bit freshened up and modernized.
