Exceptional
Beautiful roomy apartment
Liked: Beautiful, roomy accomodation. Comfortable beds, gorgeous garden and a well equipped kitchen. The views were lovely, especially at sunset. Parking was simple, and free, once given a pass for the car window.
Disliked: No issues. Just be prepared for 10 minutes of steps and alleys - very photogenic though and worth it for the apartment.
Top 1% — stunning décor, incredible views & exceptional host
Liked: This apartment in Gaeta was absolutely outstanding — easily in the top 1% of short-term rentals we’ve ever stayed in. The décor was magazine-worthy, like something straight out of Architectural Digest. Every detail had clearly been thoughtfully designed, and the space felt both stylish and welcoming. The apartment itself was large and comfortable, with two full bathrooms (a real bonus when traveling with two teens). The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to use, which made our stay even more convenient. The views were incredible and really elevated the whole experience. Gaeta itself is a charming little town that we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. Our host was excellent — she always responded very quickly whenever we had a question. When we asked about parking, she replied almost immediately and even sent Angelica to meet us and help us find a spot, which made arrival so much smoother. We only stayed two nights, but it was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend.
Disliked: Everything was absolutely perfect.
Best part were property managers, who were so responsive and accommodating. All of their check in/out instructions w
Liked: It’s a unique location, where you get a stunning birdseye perspective of the historical area. Appreciated the AC and the amenities (coffee, tea, beer, snacks, shampoo and body wash).
Disliked: Whatever substance they are treating/preserving the antique wood furniture in the living room smells like cat urine (not a welcome first impression). Also, there are many steps to get to the apartment, so even with nearby parking, navigating the cobbles and multiple staircases with luggage is onerous.
A beautiful, spacious apartment with an absolutely stunning view of an absolutely stunning town
Liked: The property agency helped me decide whether to drive or take a train/taxi (we drove), sent us great info including a video on exactly how to arrive at the parking spot in the medieval quarter, and had someone meet us with the keys. It was very smooth. The house itself is so, so beautiful--the pictures don't do justice to either the property or the views. WOW! It was just fantastic, and we loved being in Gaeta Vecchia, just a short walk up from so many restaurants. It's farther from the beach (only about a mile walk), but worth it for the ambiance, in my opinion. Also, the back garden is such a cool space. We hardly had occasion to use it, but I would love a longer stay and to have quiet mornings here working or drawing, or to have meals here:) The air conditioning works great too, if this is a concern to anyone. It was quite hot during our stay (late August), and very humid, and the a/c made the nights super comfortable.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the wi-fi signal was terrible. Supposedly connected but practically worthless--which would have been okay except that I had to miss a Zoom work meeting, and we had to use our cellular, for $12/day, to get a connection--but actually our cellular connection was terrible at the property too. This isn't a big deal overall, but it made it difficult to look up restaurants and plan our days, etc. Also, since it's a beach town and we were there in high season for the beach, it would have been great if beach towels had been provided as is often the case in this kind of holiday home. We had to buy some from the lido, which was fine. These are very minor quibbles. We loved the place!
