Very good
Excellent spot to experience the flavour of Genoa
Liked: Genoa is a city of palazzi, so it feels absolutely right to be staying in a palazzo pretty across the piazza from the Cathedral. From this position, it was easy to explore the medieval parts of the city, the old port and the UNESCO heritage sites around the Strada Nuove. The room was huge, and well equipped with a large table and very well-stocked fridge - small touches like complimentary fresh fruit and yoghurt. The decor is pared back and modern - a contrast with the original features of the building but it works. There isn't a reception as such, but the housekeeper was on hand to point the way to the lift etc, and the contact through WhatsApp was very responsive and helpful - great dinner recommendations and advice about taxis. We felt safe walking around at all times, though as in any city we were conscious of not standing out as tourists and flashing our phones around.
A perfect taste of living in Genoa for a week
Liked: An enormous room in the Palazzo, loved the space, we actually felt we were living in Genoa for a week, self check-in with clear instructions, location excellent to explore the carrughi alleys and reach waterfront for boat trips to Portofino, etc.
Not very good
Liked: Foyer and staircase were dimly lit, rather dark. That combined with no in person check-in could be rather unnerving. The room is big but rather bare
Disliked: In person check in, better lighting in the areas outside the room
Liked: It was ok…. But the Google Map location is not the same as the instructions. We got lost. Wrote to the WhatsApp number and no one responded. Thank god we finally found it. Very automated process, they send you a ton of messages, with no support. Room was ok, decent.
Stylish stay in a palazzo in the heart of the old town
Liked: The rooms are huge and stylish, with a cool white sofa and glass dining table. The location in a palazzo in the old town is very authentic, close to all the sights and bars and restaurants.
Disliked: Not a surprise as it's made clear from the description but there is no breakfast room and the light breakfast left in the fridge is pretty basic although fresh fruit was a nice gesture. There are lots of cafes with coffee and breakfast offers nearby. The old town is atmospheric but can feel a bit edgy, with a guy sleeping in the square in front of the palazzo.
Liked: Location
Disliked: Hot very hot. TV miles away from the bed
