  Wonderfully memorable stay, in a historic city!

  Liked: Our stay was wonderful and unique. Staying in a cave room in Matera… what’s not to love! The towels and bedding were luxurious, the bed extremely comfortable. And the rooms were spotless. The hosts were charming, attentive and full of great information about Matera. Breakfast was off the charts amazing!

  Disliked: Our room was very warm all night long, even with the fan going. The heat was not on. Our friends however did not have this issue, so maybe it was something with our room.

  Gorgeous stay..Matera is incredibly interesting and beautiful (now)

  Unbelievable stay!!!!

  Liked: The remodeling of the Sassi is amazing! The breakfast with local products was outstanding. The energy you breathe here is unbelievable. Highly recommended!!!!

  Moist cave, but INCREDIBLE breakfast in the heart of Matera!

  Liked: Incredible breakfast, the best breakfast we had in whole of Italy! Quality ingredients and very very tasty. The idea of a room in a cave is insane, Matera is great!

  Disliked: The room was quite moldy, the restaurant / eating space was in a cave as well but it was very good ventilated and the walls were actually dry, unlike our room, as soon as I entered our room I had to take an Aerius as I am strongly allergic to mold. My wife felt it from the start as well, but she doesn't have my reactions. Also, trying to cover the smell of mold with different strong incenses is a non-starter. The amenities in the room are quite old, the shower - while inventive - is weird, took a whole 4 minutes for the water to get warm, the door to the room could also use a refresher.
