  Liked: Beautiful building stylishly and artfully decorated with wonderful paintings, lamps and pieces of furniture from different eras, reflecting its history. The view, probably the best there is, plus the friendliness and warmth of the staff, especially Leonora.

  Liked: Wow this property is in the perfect location for a night or two in Matera. Beautiful views of the city and wonderfully decorated central areas. The breakfast was great too.

  Expected better - choose carefully!

  Liked: Location relatively close to paid for car park so not too far to drag bags through town.

  Disliked: Our ‘Junior Suite with Balcony’ plays out a lot better in photos than in reality. Shuttered windows are very difficult to get to so in effect you are in a windowless dark room. Balcony terrace is interesting but not a highlight given other challenges.

  Fabulous hotel with great character and so much to love

  Liked: Fabulous small hotel with style and great character. It also had a great view of the Sassi town and was close to everything. The breakfast was really good and of high quality. Staff happy and really helpful.
