  Liked: Matera is a wonderful place to explore. The cave rooms provided a wonderfully central base to explore the old town/ sassi areas. Staff were pleasant and check-in/out was seamless. Communications were easy. Our host made it easy to navigate the streets and the parking. It all felt quite familiar very quickly.

  Disliked: The room was expected to be basic. But, it came with little amenity to enrich one's experience - simple, thoughtful touches that improve comfort and experience, particularly given the cost. Whilst ok for a single night, any longer wouldn't be a comfortable option.

  Nicola's superior hosting skills made our stay exceptional

  Liked: The breakfast gave us an experience of a true Apulian style breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, homemade pear cake, croissants, ham, cheese, etc. The setting is a big farmhouse kitchen in the home of Nicola.
