Liked: The location was perfekt near the oldest Sassi of Matera. The room was very clean and spacious. Also the toilet was modern and fully equiped and clean

Disliked: The kitchen was a bit small and the breakfast was good but maybe need something more or additional ham cheese or eggs

Liked: The best Bed & Breakfast in Matera. We are picky and we searched far and wide and long and hard for a good place to stay in Matera, but we actually found a perfect place. The rooms (four altogether) are spacious and tastefully furnished. The bathroom comes with all modern amenities and the whole establishment is extremely clean. We stayed for a week and our room was cleaned every day and we received fresh towels and linen regularly. The rooms also seemed to be soundproofed. One could hardly hear any neighbours and the regular street noise was very moderate (with an open window), plus the rooms are only facing some side streets. The breakfast was well thought out and varied, with a mix of sweet and savoury foods and some new, typical Italian breakfast dish almost every day. Anna was very friendly and patient with us and supplied us every morning with fresh coffee and recommendations for the day at breakfast. A great opportunity to practice our (almost non existent) Italian. Everything was in short walking distance: every major sightseeing spot in Matera, all the good restaurants in the historical part (try out the "Baccus"!), the slightly less expensive places on the "outskirts" of the Sassi, as well as a small supermarket and shops. La Lupa is situated right on the border to the ZTL, encompassing the historical city centre, which cannot be entered by car. So if you arrive by car, you need to park outside the ZTL anyway. Sometimes, it takes a little patience to find a parking spot in the surrounding streets, but it's not impossible and La Lupa is much better situated than any accomodation within the ZTL. Another plus we discovered, when we arrived with a large suitcase each: La Lupa is situated on the raised ground floor, meaning only three easy steps to get your luggage up, which makes it very comfortable, if you're travelling with more than just hand luggage. We would always book again and highly recommend La Lupa.

Anna was unpolite, I advised her to do an AC maintenance and she told me not to waste her time

Liked: The location, however it was difficult to find parking on the street

Disliked: The air conditioning was dirty, after 2 hours inside the room (11 pm) the temperature was still 26,8 C. I contacted Anna and she sent me a photo of an AC display showing 22,3 C; that of course it was not in my room. She kept sending messages in French (I don't speak French). The owner also sent a message saying that the room was so cold that a penguin could stay there. Not in my room, definetively, I couldn't sleep 26,8C was too hot. After 8 hours the temperature drop to 24,6C, never to 23 as Anna said the government in Italy recommends. In the breakfast I said good morning and the lady didnt even smiled, then I realised it was Anna. So, poor social skills, I would never come back!
