Fabulous

Nice stay in Riomaggiore
Liked: The host met us to let us in and was lovely. The apartment is spacious. There is a great view of the town from the bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was adequately equipped for a short stay. Good hot water and pressure in the shower.
Disliked: The place is well up the hill, which we knew (and made for great views). The bus didn't come so we ended up carrying our suitcases up the steep stairs - not recommended! Take the path or the elevator you see right at the train station instead. The house is a little dark and cold, even in May. Probably nice in the summer! A few things that would make the place more comfortable - wifi, a small portable heater, and a shelf for soap in the shower.
Liked: Perfectly located in the heart of Riomaggorie. Close walk down to the harbour and shops. Host was fantastic to deal with, instructions were clear. Highly recommend the apartment.
Beware
Liked: Absolutely NOTHING. It was not safe, secure and DID NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY! I did not stay due to safety concerns and was told I would not get a refund. DO NOT stay if you are a solo traveler - find a safe location with electricity, please!
Disliked: I was told someone would be there to meet me upon arrival for welcome and check in, but no one was there, and I waited 45min before messaging the WhatsApp number to see what happened. They told me where to find the keys - which were left in an unlocked mailbox. The place was not clean and there was no electricity. When I messaged the property, they told me to reset the electrical power at the main box - that didn't work. They came back in to clean and there was still hair all over the bed. When I returned after the "cleaning" my luggage was moved around and looked like it had been gone through. As many other reviews stated, the towels and bed linens are old and worn out. I would not use them for any guest - especially someone who is paying a good price to stay! While I was in the area, several random men were sitting in the area without bags and just watching the place. I was very afraid as I was traveling alone, and the place had not been locked. I have never experienced anything like this and have travelled to many countries as a solo female. Unfortunately, Booking.com has not assisted at all and I will need to dispute the charge with my credit card company as I did not stay there - even for an hour. It is NOT safe.
Liked: The kitchen has everything you need. Ideal for someone who wants to cook over the duration of their stay. Did not feel the need for ac, the green shutters do a great job!
