  Beautiful Stresa

  Liked: We chose this apartment mainly for the location with just an 8 minute walk to the railway station and 15 minutes walk to the ferry terminal. Yes it is an uphill walk from the lakeside as other reviewers have mentioned but easy enough for me in my sixties with dodgy knees but the bonus is the view of the lake and mountains. The apartment is spacious and well furnished and was spotless. There is a Conad and Carrefour supermarket nearby for provisions and many restaurants nearby. All in all well pleased and we very much enjoyed Stresa and the Lake. Just be careful if you go out of main season as ferry services are reduced and we were not able to fit in all the places we had researched. Can recommend the local buses.

  Disliked: No real negatives but I would have liked a cushion on the sofa as I had nothing to support my back (I have short legs) and the kitchen is lacking oven gloves so struggled to get some hot food out of the oven.

  Liked: The apartment has been completely renovated and is very sunny. The air conditioning works perfectly. It has a small, well-equipped kitchen and two nice bathrooms.

  Liked: The view was very good from apartment. Arrival instructions were clear. Apartment was well equipped.

  Disliked: A major issue was the water in the showers was tepid. Also the heating in the main bedroom was broken. We had to complain a number of times to the agency to get them to accept there was a problem and to take any action. When the owner did come he agreed that there was a hydraulic problem in the boiler. His temporary solution was for us to significantly turn down the water pressure so we could get some warmer water. He told us the heater would be fixed at the end of the season! Reading some of the other reviews it would seem this is not a new problem. A great pity that basic expectations like a working shower and heating were not provided. Otherwise would have given a more positive rating

  Liked: It was very clean and comfortable and had a great view.

  Disliked: Access from the railway station. Looked close, but town had limited tunnels under the Railway. Going down to town was good, but coming up was a slight challenge. Need to be fit..

  Good quiet stay in a clean and spacious place with a fair price

  Liked: Clean, spacious, nice view, quiet, good location close to the center and railway station.

  Disliked: The airconditioning in the second room was not working and we had not been informed about it. The pillows are not comfortable.
