Liked: Beautiful house in a quiet hamley. Decorated very tastefully. Exceptional views of lake Maggiore and the islands.
Disliked: Difficult to park
Liked: The family who runs the B&B are very kind and attentive, they speak decent English and are extremely responsive. They gave us valuable recommendations for good restaurants and even booked for us. The apartments are great, big, have air condition and very beautiful old furniture, true pieces of art. It is extremely convenient for getting down to Stresa for the Borromean islands tour. We had dinner in the garden the last night, it was so calm and relaxing. The bread was delicious, with strong real Italian coffee, home made sweets (amazing apple crumble and banana bread), local bread, cheese, meat and fresh fruit. We had it in the other garden, it was a real pleasure.

Liked: A very nice place with an excellent host. When arriving by car, it is essential to follow the host's instructions how to get to the public parking place, otherwise you get lost in a maze of narrow winding streets and lanes!
A wonderful and peaceful stay overlooking Lake Maggiore, Andrea and Valeria are excellent hosts
Liked: We had a wonderful stay at Il Poggiolo. The house is beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views overlooking the lake. The village is lovely if you like to be in the hills and are happy to be away from the centre of town. There are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance. Andrea and Valeria made me and my family feel welcome from the first minute. They went above and beyond, kindly offering to drive us to the station and helping us to make dinner reservations. We needed an earlier breakfast one morning and it wasn’t a problem for them. Speaking of the breakfasts, they prepare great selections and serve the most delicious homemade cakes. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Big thanks to Andrea, Valeria (and Olivia the dog, of course) who made our stay so special. We hope to be back one day! Michael and Marta
