  Peaceful

  Liked: The location on the island is wonderful. It’s so quiet, beautiful and relaxing. I had a room with a small terrace overlooking the lake and the sunrise was magical. Very clean room and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was also very good!

  Disliked: Bear in mind that you’re on the island! There are taxi boats but less operate at the end of the season. The hotel staff are very helpful and will look after you, but don’t come back too late!

  A lovely location for a peaceful short break

  Liked: The location, so peaceful on the island, no cars. Lovely restaurant and breakfast terrace

  Disliked: A little more of an area to enjoy the outside and to be able to relax, no bar area.

  Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful location

  Liked: Very clean and comfortable hotel in a fabulous location. Nice room, if a little small. L’Ocittaine toiletries were a nice touch.

  Disliked: After 5.30 the island shuts up all shops and bars. Only places to eat are the hotels, so not much choice.The last ferry from Stresa back to the island is 7 p.m. so not much time to eat there and return. Staff at the hotel were very efficient but not very friendly. Rather aloof.

  Amazing views

  Liked: Such an beautiful and quiet place. The views from the balcony are simply amazing!

  Disliked: Getting the luggage off the boat and lugging it over gravel was not pleasant, though it only took 5 minutes. Pro tip: blue-and-yellow ticket boats park a lot closer to the hotel than the red ticket ones. Still, the hotel has a pier - it would be so much easier if some boat could take us there directly
