Very good
Liked: The apartment has a nice terrace, which is perfect for relaxing in the evening or having breakfast in the morning when the weather is good. Since we spent most of the day outside, we really appreciated this space. The host was responsive and quickly helped us when we had an issue with the hot water. There is also a large parking area, which is convenient for guests arriving by car.
Disliked: We had read previous reviews before booking, so we already knew that the apartment was not new and showed some signs of use. However, what we did not expect was how difficult it would be to reach without a car. After collecting the keys from the key box, we had to walk around 45 minutes to the apartment. The distance itself was not the main issue, the problem was that part of the route was along a road without proper space for pedestrians while cars were passing very close by. For guests arriving without a car, it is much better to take a train or boat to Baveno after collecting the keys, as the walk is shorter and safer for pedestrians. Other small things to know: there was only hand soap provided in the bathroom, no shampoo or shower gel. There was also no dish sponge or hand towel in the kitchen, which would have been useful. The apartment is a bit outdated and could use some renovation, but we were aware of that before booking and chose it mainly for the beautiful view.
Liked: Beautiful place, amazing view. Swimming every day with the dog.
Disliked: Street to Stresa and Baveno.
Romantic stay with perfect views
Liked: It was an amazing adorable stay right on the lake. The window next to the bed had a gorgeous view on the Isola del Pescatori and you can watch priceless sunrises and sunsets. The garden is very big which is amazing if you bring a dog, they will love it, especially because of the private beach. We have a golden retriever and she went swimming multiple times a day. Also everything you need, like grocerie stores etc is very close by in Baveno or Stresa. We had a blast and will surely consider to come back again.
Disliked: The only little problem we had was that it was a little loud, since the property was right next to a busier road.
Breathtaking location
Liked: An incredible location right on the lake. The garden and parking were a fantastic addition as we were travelling with our dog. Breathtaking and unique short stay. We would return.
Disliked: A little tricky to find the gate entrance on the main road but the management staff gave very informative short video to help us locate the property.
A unique experience
Liked: Being right on the lake with private parking and a short walk to Baveno. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable for 2 people. The views over the lake were amazing and being able to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance.
Disliked: Only a very small issue was getting in and out of the property as it was right on a bend with limited view of oncoming traffic. But with a little planning this is easily overcome.
Nice place, private, great views. Property is in Bavena two+ miles away; very difficult walking
Liked: The cottage itself was private and on the lake. Great views with inside and outside seating
Disliked: Getting the keys and instructions from the property manager in Stresa, where the property was supposed to be located, was impossible on the first night. We arrived at their office by taxi from Milan. The office was closed. The keys were not available. After repeated attempts to call and e-mail the site managers, there was no response and we had to arrange for another hotel the first night.
