Would not recommend
Liked: Easy access to the station, town and Ortigia.
Disliked: There was building work in next door property from 7.30 onwards during the week. The staff responded rapidly when I complained and moved me but it was only slightly better. There was no space in the other hotel. The shower cubicles in both rooms needed replacing. Mouldy and broken fixtures and fittings. The hotel fixed the volume on the TVs - it was either too loud or too low and I ended up using my ear phones via Bluetooth. There is no breakfast served in the hotel as advertised - you have to go across a busy road to another hotel. Neither of the safes worked. The sun terrace is not really a sun terrace - just a place with some old rusty chairs.
Not amused
Liked: Clean room, good breakfast but it's in another hotel which is beautiful, running LeMuse as an annex. Great view from terrace
Disliked: Very noisy, restaurants in same building open till one am. No staff based here, unlike photos on this site. Terrace abandoned to a few weeds - compare current photo to ones on this site! But still usable. Two power cuts in three days, with all the fire doors slamming shut
For the prize paid it was good, very close to the centre, clean and staff were nice
Liked: The room was good value for the price paid, the staff members were really friendly and the place was very easy to locate. Also, the place was so close to the old city, we could walk in and out very conveniently.
Disliked: If you need quietness to sleep, this will not be your place. The isolation was awful. Both the window and the door did not siolate any noise. The street noise was very loud (there is also a bar with live music) which barely let us sleep, it was like having the window open. The door barely isolated noise from the corrider, we were awoken at 2 am by guests coming in and talking (they were talking normally not screaming or anything but it just shows how bad the isolation was).
Liked: The room is large and spacious, the staff were friendly at both hotels and the breakfast was really fantastic. There were activities on offer to join which I thought was a nice touch. The location is easy walking distance from the public car park and so close to the bridge of Ortigia.
Disliked: The shower needs to be replaced, the shower hose was broken so not much much water would come out, it has corroded with rust along the bottom, the sealant along the bottom of the shower is really stained and the door would not shut. The street noise can be a little loud and the wifi would not reach my room. These things did not ruin my stay but if fixed the hotel would be a 10 I really enjoyed my stay.
