  Liked: Great location close to a secret beach area and away from the main tourist area but 5 mins walk to the town.

  Ideal Ortigia stay

  Liked: Great location to explore Ortigia fully and access to Syracuse boat trips. Well appointed unit, clean, modern and comfortable with welcoming touches from host. Great check in instructions. Parking convenient 400m away

  Great air con. Walkable to everywhere

  Liked: Comfortable bed. Comfortable house.

  Disliked: Unfortunately for us there was construction work next door. This caused the internet to fail. Internet was great in the afternoon, evening and early morning but at 7am it dropped out. Owner is aware. Lucky we spent most of the day away, so not such a big issue. Construction work will be completed soon, then internet will be fine.

  Liked: The location was great! The apartment was well equipped comfortable, and quiet for sleeping.

  Disliked: The lock box for the key was malfunctioning causing a wait of over an hour before we could enter. The shower could be cleaner.

  Good place but probably won’t go back

  Liked: Spacious, comfortable, good location overall (close to town but relatively quiet despite being next to a large street) and easy check in.

  Disliked: We were ‘reminded’ (actually, informed for the first time) on our last night that the tourist tax had to be paid in cash at check out. We had to go out to withdraw more cash (+ extra withdrawal fee), break the bill into coins etc. which was difficult as many places were closed early due to a holiday. Unfortunately how it was handled left a negative feeling with us. Hopefully the host improves in the future.
