Exceptional
Liked: The apartment was a studio apartment, so we didn't expect it to be big, but it was sufficiently large for us to be very comfortable. Our balcony overlooked the street so it was interesting to be able to see daily life. The area is residential and quiet at night. There is an excellent fish restaurant just down the street and a supermarket very few minutes' walk away. The best thing about it was Alessandra, who as well as being a friendly, kind host, was also practical and capable with small technical hitches, such as realigning the door. She brought us the local speciality cakes to welcome us, and was always available with help and information when needed. She also speaks very good English, and refrained from laughing at my dreadful scraps of Italian. On my husband's 80th birthday we returned to the apartment to find a personalised birthday cake, card and balloons, organised by Alessandra after my sons contacted her.

Perfect
Liked: I highly recommend this place to stay in Siracusa. It is about a 20-minute walk from Ortigia, which was very convenient for us. There is also a nice bar just down the street, which is great for having a coffee or a cold drink. The bed was very comfortable and the house was clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need, including all the necessary utensils, although we didn’t get a chance to use it during our stay. We also really appreciated the notebook provided by the host, which was full of useful local information and recommendations, including restaurants and places to visit. It was a lovely and thoughtful touch, likewise the handmade gift. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you so much.

Liked: The apartment was spacious, well equipped, with everything we need. We got a detailed instructions for navigating the city. There was a generous amount of espresso for our entire stay. It usually took us 15 minutes of walking to get to Ortigia. We had a car but it was completely unnecessary. Down the street there is a nice fish store with great seafood pasta and fish, at VERY affordable prices. The host was extremely helpful and nice at all times. We highly recommend this accommodation. It made our stay at Syracuse a joyful and pleasant experience.
