  I'd wish apartment hosts would be more hospitable and responsive

  Liked: Great location, especially if you attend attend events at the Arena di Verona

  Disliked: Staff was reluctant to communicate, did not take calls or respond to messages. We were instructed where to take keys, but not shown around apartment, so we had to guess where some amenities are. Info about apartment is misleading as there are no 2 bedrooms, actually there is 1 bedroom and second bed squeezed in a niche.

  Location Great, Management Terrible

  Liked: The location is excellent. The apartment has a comfortable, modern design.

  Disliked: This is an STR property. No one is onsite and communication is extremely poor. Prior to arrival I had questions about a third-party phishing attempt with my booking details. They never responded to my Booking.com messages so I reached out to them via Whatsapp. Even then their responses were minimal and they never quite answered my questions about how my data had been compromised. To check in you have to call them. I reached out about this days in advance with questions but no response. Finally I had my hotel in Milan call them the morning we were due to check in. As a result check in was ok, but during our stay we guarded the key like gold. I can only imagine what kind of hassle it would have been to lose it and have no one immediately available to help. Another issue was maintenance. As soon as we checked in we discovered the shower wouldn't drain. Within 30 seconds I was standing in a pool of dirty water. We immediately reported it. Four hours later they responded and said they'd come the next day. It was 38 degrees in Verona that day. When we got back in the evening we were so desperate for a decent shower that my husband ended up cleaning it himself by removing a large plug of hair and slime. This situation could have easily been avoided with routine maintenance. There was a lack of attention to other details. The toilet had no lid and the trash bin no liner, which was unhygienic and just added to the unpleasantness. This place has so much potential, but with this type of poor, unresponsive management, we would not stay again. We'd rather just pay more and stay in a nearby hotel next time.
