    Brilliant house boat

Liked: The jacuzzi was fantastic and the boat house concept and configuration is brilliant

Disliked: Albeit on the longest weekend for sunshine, the curtains do not block the light. This made sleep (particularly for our 5 year old) a bit tricky.

    Beautiful boat but zero privacy

Liked: The Wikkelboats have a cool concept. The woodworking is very beautiful, the whirlpool on the deck is a highlight.

Disliked: You have absolutely no privacy on the houseboat. There’s constant activity on the water, which would be fine if the houseboat itself offered any privacy. While we were having breakfast, a staff member suddenly came onto our terrace to access the cellar via the hatch. We thought he’d forgotten something — but he kept going in and out for 1 hour to do housekeeping for the boat next door, using our terrace the entire time. Later, 2 complete strangers docked a rental water bike on our terrace — no warning. 15 minutes later, the next renters arrived. Since we hadn’t agreed to this, the staff eventually moored the bikes at the neighbor’s terrace instead which they weren't happy about either. We didn’t use the hot tub or let our dog out that afternoon because we had no idea who might show up next. An absolute no-go. The outdoor furniture needs replacing and the terrace is covered in cobwebs. Also, just a heads-up: this isn’t a cultural area — it’s more like a party zone. On Saturdays, boats with drunk, shouting men pass by the houseboat every few minutes.

Great location, but not worth this high price

Liked: Great location, beautiful views, jacuzzi is nice. The space itself is cosy.

Disliked: Sheets and towels were all stained and bath robes were still wet. When we reported this they sent someone with new towels but those also had stains. Plates and cups in the cupboard were dirty, probably because the little dish washer doesn’t work well. These are not major concerns usually, however, at €450 a night you expect much better. Also, we didn't notice before booking that the check-in time isn't until 17:00 - which is very unusual! Then during the booking process they offer an 'early check-in' for an additional €40. All together this simply feels way overpriced, regardless of the cool concept and nice location.

    Pleasant

Liked: We saw many different ducks and geese. We wanted to relax in nature and enjoy the jacuzzi. We also rented SUP and paddled along the river. Overall, the vacation went well, but there were some moments that caused discomfort. The cottage was in good condition, but unfortunately, it did not feel cozy to us.

Disliked: 1. The staff arrived early in the morning and disturbed our rest. They forgot about the SUP rental and only retrieved the boards late after a reminder. Additionally, they took a long time to find the key, and different people coming into our cottage caused discomfort. 2. Additionally, there is construction noise from across the river that makes it difficult to relax. 3. I would recommend adding a couple of blankets to the cottage for outdoor relaxation. Also, there is a lack of slippers. There are storage issues as well, with very few places to put things. Adding a small folding drying rack would be great since there was nowhere to dry clothes and towels.
