  Liked: Excellent location which is mixed between bring close to nature and not far from car park Free ride bike

  Disliked: The facility close by 6pm but this was communicated very clearly ahead There is a shelf on top of the bed which makes sitting on the bed is not comfortable

  Unpleasant damp issues

  Disliked: We booked a two-night stay here, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. On arrival, we were given the keys to chalet number 16 which had a very strong smell of damp in the main bedroom. On inspection, there were visible damp spores around the skirting boards and walls, some of which appeared to have been wiped away. We immediately raised our concerns with reception. They apologised and provided us with the keys to chalet number 8. Unfortunately, this chalet was in a similar condition, with visible signs of damp. The smell had been masked by a very strong disinfectant, but the underlying issue was still clearly present. After returning to reception and highlighting the further damp issues in chalet number 8, we decided to leave and booked alternative accommodation nearby. The person on reception issued us a refund and apologised, promising to look into the issues. This was a very disappointing and disruptive start to our holiday. In our opinion, these were not simply cleaning issues but signs of an underlying damp problem within the chalets. We feel this needs to be properly investigated and resolved before the affected chalets are let out to guests again.

  Great stay

  Liked: Great location for a short stay in Giethoorn. Lovely surroundings and able to hire a boat for a couple of hours

  Nice location they have free bike but the chalet was not cleaned well
