  Overall, we truly loved the house, the outdoor space, the peaceful surroundings, the location, and the thoughtful select

  Liked: We had a wonderful stay. The house and terrace were lovely, and we especially appreciated the charming decorations. Since we spent most of our time outdoors, the outdoor space was exactly what we were looking for. We were also pleasantly surprised by the variety of condiments and oils available for guests to use, which is always a thoughtful touch when booking this type of accommodation. Thank you as well for the homemade cookie. It was delicious!

  Disliked: There are a few areas that could be improved. Although we had communicated our arrival time in advance, the house was not properly ventilated when we arrived and had a noticeable damp smell. It took about two days to fully air it out. We also found that there was only a bit of soap available that we could use to wash our hands. In addition, some of the dishes and glasses needed to be washed again before use, as they were dusty and felt slightly sticky. While I understand of preserving the character of a traditional grandparents' house, some of the linens and towels were quite worn, and a few of the bed sheets had small tears.

  Stunning views from sunny Calheta!

  Liked: The view from the terrace is the perfect medicine for your body and mind. Just sit in the chair and enjoy the views, and often a really nice sunset! The barbeque is also a nice bonus.The neighborhood is also really safe and quiet.

  Disliked: We didn't really have any complaints.

  Great stay, but house needs a little bit of investments

  Liked: It was nice experience. Very cozy location with great view in very good location. Perfect for 2 people as there is only one bathroom in master bedroom. Air conditions are in every room. Kitchen has all needed appliances incl. basic spices for cooking. Host was always available.

  Disliked: There are too many kitchenware, some of them are old and broken, better to have less but new and clean:) New pans are needed. Cleaning can be better, there were cobwebs in the house. Very high humidity level in the bathroom, dehumidifier is very needed there! Towels are not able to dry at all. During rain the ceiling is leaking above the stairs.

  A peaceful home away from home

  Liked: The house was the perfect home for our time on Madeira. We liked the location in the southwest, from where we did all our daytrips. The view was phenomenal and the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. The house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The communication with Vanessa was very good and friendly, she clearly also put effort into making the house very cozy. It was nice to have a big private parking lot which could be closed with a gate.

  Disliked: The street was very narrow, which felt a bit challenging (we got a bigger rental car than expected), but by going slowly and carefully, it was all fine and worked out well

  Exceptional

  Liked: We enjoyed our stay. Of course, we enjoyed the terrace the most, the view is stunning! The hosts are very nice and willing, we truly felt welcomed in the house. Also, the accomodation is very nicely decorated, it truly feels as "home", not "a place to sleep over". Communication was smooth and we received all necessary informations in time. Upon arrival our flight was delayed for more than an hour and it was not a problem (since we received the keys from a person, who was waiting for our arrival). Definitely recommend!
