  The view was great and convenient for a road trip but it’s expensive for what’s inside not worth a 4 stars

  Disliked: Hotel Jardim Atlântico – Madeira The hotel has a beautiful location with stunning views from the balcony, definitely one of its biggest highlights! The room was spacious, with a large bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils for cooking. Coffee was provided, which was a nice touch, although adding some tea and sugar would make it even better. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and overall comfort were far below my expectations, especially for a hotel advertised as 4 stars. The toilet seat had a “sanitized” label, but when I lifted it, I found dirt underneath. I ended up cleaning it myself, which was honestly quite disgusting and unacceptable for a hotel of this category. I also noticed a bloodstain on the bedsheet near the head area, as well as visible stains on the sofa. These are basic hygiene issues that should absolutely be checked before welcoming guests. The worst part was the night. There were so many mosquitoes that I could barely sleep. I covered myself with the blanket to avoid being bitten, but still woke up with my left eye swollen. I can’t say for certain whether it was caused by a mosquito or another insect, but the whole experience was extremely uncomfortable. The hotel should at least inform guests about the mosquito situation or provide mosquito repellent or other preventive measures. These small details could make a huge difference. Considering the price, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail. I’m genuinely surprised by the hotel’s 4-star classification, as my experience certainly didn’t reflect that standard. I believe the quality and hygiene standards deserve a thorough reassessment. It’s a shame because the location and views are truly beautiful, and the property has great potential. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

  Good value for the money

  Liked: Breakfast offered good options of healthy foods, fresh fruits, and juices.

  Disliked: Perhaps offering more assistance with bringing the luggage down and up the steps to our rooms, as it was a challenge if you have heavy suitcases.

  Nice location with beautiful views

  Liked: It was next to a trail. The room was spacious. Breakfast was great and our view from the balcony was nice.

  Disliked: Parking was hard to find. A fan in the room would help with the hot summer.
