Not recommend and honestly not worth the price

Liked: The area was nice and there was free parking. The breakfast was OK with generally good views of the nearby hills and ocean. The staff were pleasant enough but I've seen better service from 3 star venues, this was 4 star? I had half board with dinner for 2 nights and the dinner was definitely delicious.. sadly that's all the good i can say because there were no drinks not even WATER included other than during breakfast...you need to pay for it otherwise - €3 for a glass of water...?!! Even though there were plenty of FREE water fountains nearby that you can replenish your bottle if you need..the staff never even mentioned those i happened on them myself. Yes they had a small pool that I did not fnd appalling and did not use. I'd say a maximum of 4 adults could swim there at a time.

Disliked: A lot. The room was very small for the price and 4 star venue, the view was OK, but with VERY LACKING facilities - no fridge, no AC not even a FAN and a very meager and bland toilet with bathroom - i can't imagine what it would have been like staying there during 2026 heatwaves. There was zero soundproofing..i could hear my neighbours as much as cough or whisper in the next room - so not much sense of privacy. There was no good ventilation in the room, so at night to try to sleep i had to open the window...and hear the very irritating sound of some VERY LOUD FROGS despite ear plugs - Sleep was not comfortable. I don't know if in that half of Madiera the hotels are less worth for $ but generally the price was too high and having been to a LOT of hotels in my time - including another one in Madeira that same week - my opinion was this was a 3 star, not a 4 star experience and not worth the price. I am not sure who i would recommend this hotel to - not couples, not larger families / older kids, but maybe for families with younger children who could use the pool? (Why not just go to the many amazing beaches or swimming options instead?)

Good as an escape but food is not as good

Liked: The grounds and feel of the Quinta was very good. The staff were friendly and provided everything we needed

Disliked: The breakfast and evening meal. It is targeted at German tourists and they provide primarily a continental breakfast with limited choice for hot options. Boiled eggs, cheese and cold meats with some fruit and cereals. The evening meal on the Sunday evening was NOT the quality of the meal on the previous night

    A peaceful location

Liked: The view was fabulous and our room had a duel aspect, which was lovely. The hotel is very peaceful and we found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: I need to eat gluten free and had advised the hotel of this in advance of our stay. However, there seemed to be great uncertainty from the staff bringing the food out, as to whether our dishes were gf. This caused me to be anxious and I can’t say this made for a great dining experience. Obviously, for the vast majority of people this won’t be an issue and the food was ok.

    Average to good

Liked: Breakfast & Dinner were great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was nice and had good views. Overall and average stay nothing fancy or exciting

Disliked: The location was not great. Good for retirees looking to relax. Not for someone exploring Madeira. Remember the water will cost you 6 Euros, no free water.

    Amazing

Liked: Everything. Hotel is spotless. The rooms - everything super clean, tidy and looked after. Amazing views to the ocean. Restaurant - amazing food with the smallest details thought through like fresh flowers on each table and candles for dinner. Food was amazing too, we had dinner and breakfast there. Garden is very beautiful too. We really enjoyed out stay.

    Disliked: Nothing
